Bluey-Grey Carpet Color Scheme
We are coming from a home with all earth tones and going to a house with white walls and bluey-grey carpet.
I need help to know which color couches and accents would go best.
We are a very conservative family, and not very creative.
Andrea's ResponseYou won't be taking any of your existing furnishings or furniture with you and are starting from scratch?
Starting with a bluey-grey carpet you immediately have two of the colors for your scheme - blue and grey. Take grey to its darkest and of course you have black. You will need a metal color too for lamps and so on and blue and grey are both much more comfortable with silver or chrome than gold or brass.
That gives you your basic color palette - all shades of blue, grey, black and silver. To this you need to add one other color for your accents. Really, the world is your oyster with this.
Personally, I love lime green and bright pink with this set of colors but that is not for everyone and given your conservative nature you may prefer to simply add cream or white.
When using a lot of blue, other popular choices for accent color would be a pale, golden, sandy yellow (think beach) or touches of red for a nautical look.
